DOGS

Dogs are a very good company for humans.  They are very funny and they could make people’s life happier. They are always there by our side accompanying us when we need them. Dogs know their owners better than humans know them. I think that every dog have a special connection with its owner.

Some people have dogs to protect their houses, others to replace their children they never had. Often people are looking for company when they do not have any. Sadly many people use dogs for money. Many animals go through scientific experiments, such as police dogs, firedog, detectives and every kind of jobs. Unfortunately some aggressive dogs are used for fighting.

For example I have a dog called Enrique; I have it since I was 3 years old. Now, it is 11 years old. I named it Enrique because of in my favorite program of television “Sesame Street”. This show has two characters called Enrique and Beto.

Dogs are very smart. According to many scientific they are like dolphins which are the smartest animals in the world. Last week I watched on TV a documentary about the dogs in National Geographic channel. This documentary demonstrated through a test that dogs are really very smart. This animals test consisted of putting a dog in front of a screen of computer with three icons. As the dogs observed then, they pressed them with their muzzle. Only with one of the icons the dogs could get food. The icon was obtained discarding the other options. For example, in the scream the icons are a square, a circle, and a triangle. The icon for the food was the circle, but if the dog chooses the triangle it will not receive food. When the image in the screen changes the dog knows that the triangle is not correct, so the dog not chooses it. It will choose other. However, if there is not the square but triangle, circle or a house, it will know that the correct option is the circle. In every case, the dogs got the food in the test.

I believe the dogs are intelligent because sometimes I feel that my dog manipulates me. I always doing all that it wants.  For example, one day I was playing with my dog when I pushed Enrique to throw it on the floor, he did not like it. So he sat down between to walls in which were very little space between them, there was impossible throw Enrique, it was very funny I said: “it is not possible, Enrique won me”.

Dogs are true faithful friends and give their lives for humans, for instance it is very sad to see dogs that rush into the mines for save to their owners. Or in other cases, rescue dogs, could give their lives for their owner. These actions show how much dogs can love us and trust us.  For example, I am sure Enrique is a faithful dog because he trusts me. Enrique eats everything I said to him to eat.  I still remember on December 31 my dad gave some grapes to my dog. My dad tried to force Enrique to eat the grapes, but it did not obey my father. However, when I gave to Enrique the grapes he ate them, although its face showed it dislike them.

In brief, dogs are very cute and understanding with humans. Dogs can feel everything that humans feel. For that reason, we should take care of them. We should no to throw them to the street although they are sick, or because they are very old. It is very sad to see dogs abandoned on the streets suffering hungriness and loneliness.
